FLUX e-Invoicing

1. What is e-Invoicing?

e-Invoicing refers to the electronic generation, submission, and transmission of invoices, credit/debit notes, and refund notes, replacing traditional paper or electronic invoices.

Effective 1 July 2025, FLUX will begin issuing e-Invoices as part of the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia’s (IRBM) initiative to enhance national tax administration.

2. Why is FLUX implementing e-Invoicing?

FLUX is implementing e-Invoicing to align with IRBM’s efforts to modernize tax administration and improve the overall invoicing process. e-Invoicing will:

  • Improve the accuracy of invoicing

  • Reduce errors in invoice processing

  • Automate tax reporting and reconciliation

  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations

3. What do I need to do to comply with e-Invoicing requirements?

To comply with the e-Invoicing requirements, you need to complete the E-Invoicing Information Update Form by 17 June 2025. This form collects essential details such as your Tax Identification Number (TIN) and Sales and Service Tax (SST) Registration Number (if applicable), as required under IRBM’s e-Invoicing framework.

4. What information will be collected in the E-Invoicing Information Update Form?

The following details will be collected in the form:

  • ID Type

  • ID Number

  • Country of ID Issuance

  • Tax Identification Number (TIN)

  • Sales and Service Tax (SST) Registration Number (if applicable)

Please ensure that all the information provided is accurate to avoid issues during processing.

5. What happens if I do not submit the form or if the information is inaccurate?

If you do not submit the form by the deadline or if the information provided is inaccurate, FLUX will be unable to issue standalone e-Invoices on your behalf. It is crucial that all information is accurate and up-to-date to prevent disruptions.

6. What happens if my information does not match IRBM’s records or if my TIN validation fails?

If the information you provide in the form does not match the records maintained by IRBM, or if your TIN validation fails, FLUX will not be able to generate e-Invoices for you. Please ensure that your details are up-to-date and match IRBM’s registration information.

7. How does FLUX ensure the security of my personal data?

FLUX is committed to safeguarding your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Please note that personal data processed for e-Invoices issued or transmitted to the Director General of IRBM is not subject to the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (Act 709) under Section 82C(11) of the Income Tax Act 1967. Despite this, FLUX remains committed to adhering to best practices in data protection to ensure your data is handled securely.
